Zakynthos has one international airport that you can fly to/from for the festival. Zakynthos International Airport (ZTH) has direct flights from London, Munich, Amsterdam, Tel Aviv and Rome.
You can also catch direct domestic flights to Zakynthos from Athens and Crete.
The other option to get to Zakynthos is by ferry. The shortest ferry trip is from Kyllini, which is on the Greek mainland and can be reached by road from Athens. The journey time from Kyllini is just over an hour.
There is no ferry from Athens. Ferry boats depart daily from Kyllini as well Kefalonia. Kefalonia airport has good connectivity with the UK.
Is there public transport on Zakynthos?
Yes, a bus service runs between the airport and Zakynthos Town. However, it is infrequent and doesn’t run on the weekends. So your best option is to look into car or scooter rentals. The island also has good coverage from taxi services, which are readily available in most tourist areas.
