Running of the Bulls Hotels: Your Ultimate Stay Guide
If you’re planning a trip to Pamplona for the famous Running of the Bulls, finding the perfect hotel goes a long way to enjoying the festivities.
With so many visitors flocking to the city for the event, booking accommodations well in advance is essential to secure a prime location and comfortable stay during the celebrations.
I’ve scoured the interwebs for some ideal places to rest your head at night and have found a diverse range of lodging options, from budget hostels to luxurious 5-star hotels.
The key is to find a hotel near the heart of the action, particularly those in the Old Town (Casco Viejo), as relying on taxis or public transportation will be impossible.
Some of the most sought-after hotels in Pamplona can sell out as early as January, highlighting the importance of planning ahead.
Additionally, local apartment owners sometimes rent out rooms to travellers needing housing, so I kept that option in mind as an alternative to traditional hotels.

Party Areas and Central Pamplona
You want to be as close to the action as possible. Thankfully, many grand hotels are located near party areas and in Central Pamplona. This makes it convenient to join in on the festivities without having to worry about transportation.
Types of Hotels: 3-Star, 4-Star, and 5-Star
3-Star Hotels: I love the idea of staying at a cosy 3-star hotel with all the basic amenities I need. These hotels are generally more affordable and perfect for those on a tight budget.
4-Star Hotels: Pamplona has some fantastic options, like the Castillo de Gorraiz Golf & Spa. These hotels provide a bit of luxury while still being budget-friendly.
5-Star Hotels: If you want to go all out for the Running of the Bulls, then a 5-star hotel is the way to go. These hotels offer top-of-the-line amenities, extraordinary service, and incredible locations. Staying in a luxury hotel will make your San Fermin experience even more unforgettable.

Tres Reyes
My favourite place when looking to be near the heart of the action is the Tres Reyes. This 4.5-star property is ideally located close to the famous Plaza del Castillo and Calle Estafeta.
I found its proximity to Taconera Park Gardens and the beautiful Arga River rather refreshing. In addition, the hotel offers excellent amenities, and I particularly enjoyed its outdoor pool.
Alma Pamplona
I stayed at the Alma Pamplona before the pandemic when I wanted a more premium experience. This luxury hotel offers fantastic panoramic views of Northern Spain’s countryside, providing a rural feeling while still in the city.
The hotel gets excellent reviews on TripAdvisor for its comfy rooms and modern facilities. One of the highlights for me was the complimentary water, soft drinks, and beer in my room.
Hotel Leyre
Another great option is Hotel Leyre, near Taconera Park and Calle San Nicolas. The hotel offers a comfortable stay with excellent customer service. It’s ideal for those visiting Pamplona for the Running of the Bulls or other bucket list events.
